Meet:

Dr. Alexander

Alex, a Material Science graduate from Leoben (Austria) and Sheffield (UK), joined ABB Research Center (Dattwil, CH) in 1997, pioneering advanced repair techniques SX brazing and SX welding for ABB/ALSTOM F-class GT13E2 and 24/26 fleet, which is now GE.

Alex held various positions at ALSTOM Switzerland in Baden with materials, such as Chief of Engineering and Combustion Department from 2000 to 2009, and was heading the repair engineering group at ALSTOM Dubai in Jebel Ali until 2012.

In 2004, Alex earned his PhD for his research on "SX Diffusion Brazing of SX Superalloys" at EPFL in Switzerland. Presentation of his PhD at the ASME 2006 conference earned him a Best-Paper Award. This paper can be found here: CLICK ME
